این کتاب، سه داستان کوتاه «مردی در حاشیه»، «بویی که سرهنگ را دلباخته کرد» و «زنی برای کشتن و دوست داشتن» را در برگرفته است. دو داستان نخست این کتاب، همچون کتاب اول این نویسنده، «دکتر نون زنش را بیشتر از مصدق دوست دارد» (که در سال ۱۳۸۰ روانه بازار کتاب شده بود) از طنزی تلخ برخوردار است. فضای هر سه داستان این مجموعه، در خیابانی قدیمی بهنام «عزیزآباد» شکل گرفته است.
