دگمههای بیرنگ مجموعه‌ای از ۱۷ داستان کوتاه است که همگی رویکردی اجتماعی دارند و با بهره‌گیری از فضاهای معاصر شهری نوشته شده‌اند. هر چند تمامی داستان‌ها از فضایی رئالیستی برخوردارند اما تنوع موضوعی و رویکرد نویسنده به زندگی آدم‌های شهری یکنواخت و قابل پیش‌بینی نیست و در هر داستان نویسنده تلاش کرده است تا از خلال لحظات به ظاهر عادی زندگی زاویه جدیدی را برای معرفی آدم‌های داستان‌هایش انتخاب کند.
