ویژگی مهم شعر "غاده السمان" این است که او جسارت زن بودن را وارد شعر عرب کرد. زن عرب در یک محیط بسته فرهنگی زندگی می کند که نمی تواند بسیاری از احساسات درونی خود را ابراز کند اما غاده السمان کسی است که نه تنها این احساسات را بروز می دهد، بلکه آن ها را افشا می کند. احساسات زن عرب همچون رازی سر به مهر قرن هاست که در تاریخ عرب نهفته است، رازی که هیچ کسی حق بازگو کردن آن را ندارد
