در سال ۱۹۸۹ رهبران کشورهای عضو مجمع عمومی سازمان ملل متحد، پیماننامهی حقوق کودک را به تصویب رساندند؛ قانون حقوق بشری خاص برای کودکان زیر هجده سال. همهی بچههای دنیا حقوقی دارند، آنها حق دارند از این حقوق آگاه باشند و دربارهی آن صحبت کنند… «حق دارم کودک باشم» زمزمهی شاعرانهی حقوق است برای کودکان که با زبانی ساده و تصاویری پرمفهوم برای والدین و کودکان روشن میکند بچههای دنیا چه حقوقی دارند.
