شعبان جعفری متولد ۱۳۰۰ در تهران، درگذشت ۲۸ مرداد ۱۳۸۵ در سنتا مونیکا کالیفرنیا است. در میان مخالفانش مشهور به شعبون بیمخ یکی از نامهای جنجالی تاریخ معاصر ایران و از بازیگران اصلی کودتای ۲۸ مرداد بود. وی زورخانه دار و باستانی کار ایرانی بود که بیشتر به خاطر حضورش در حرکات سیاسی به خصوص در کودتای ۲۸ مرداد سال ۱۳۳۲شهرت داشت. وی از اوباش بنامِ تهران بود.
