میدان ایتالیا اثر آنتونیو تابوکی در واقع تاریخ صد و اندی ساله ایتالیا منتهی به دهههای ۶۰ و ۷۰ قرن بیستم است. این داستان سه نسل پیاپی از یک خانواده را در بر میگیرد وعنوان سه فصل آن، زمانهای اول، دوم و سوم است. میدان ایتالیا رمانی است کم حجم که با وجود گستره زمانی قابل ملاحظه و حوادث متعدد، در تیپ سازی و شخصیت پردازی بسیار موفق است.
