((ماریا کالاس)) سوپرانو یونانی و یکی از مهم ترین خوانندگان اپرا در سال های بعد از جنگ جهانی دوم بود. او را ملکه ی اپرامی نامند. ملکه ی محزونی که سرنوشت غم انگیزی به رنج آوری همان شخصیت های نمایشی داشت که آوازهای حزین شان را سر می داد. مک نلی کلاس پیشرفته را در سال 1995 نوشت و آخرین سال های زندگی ماریا کالاس را دست مایه ی اثرش قرار داد.
