Acclaimed Tehran-born director Kiarostami has been exhibited around the world as a photographer and video artist: Trees and Crows highlights his obsessions with nature, the countryside and contemplation that invest many of his movies. These peaceful rural photographs come in rich autumnal colours, and have hidden depths; as noted in Alireza Samie Azars introduction, trees and crows have their symbolic significance for all cultures.
