نوری زنبوردار است و همسرش افرا، یک هنرمند. آنها زندگی سادهای دارند و در شهر زیبای حلب سوریه به سر میبرند تا اینکه جنگ داخلی بیپایان در این کشور آغاز میشود و این زوج ناچار به فرار میشوند. فرزند آنها سامی در اثر انفجار بمب کشته میشود و افرا نیز بینایی خود را از دست میدهد. حالا این زوج رنجور و ناامید باید سفری خطرناک را از طریق ترکیه و یونان به سمت آیندهای نامشخص در انگلیس آغاز کنند.
