کتاب سمرقند یک رمان تاریخی از امین مالوف نویسنده مشهور فرانسوی و لبنانی الاصل است که به شرح سرنوشت نسخه خطی رباعیات خیام از زمان نگارش آن توسط خیام نیشابوری تا مدفون شدن آن در اعماق آبهای اقیانوس اطلس میپردازد. امین مالوف در سراسر کتاب، شرح سرنوشت نسخه خطی رباعیات خیام را به زیبایی با بازگویی تاریخ ایران از دوران خیام تا انقلاب مشروطه ایران و پایان سلطنت قاجار پیوند زده است.
