سه گانه‌ی میتراس روایتی از سه زمان مختلف است. در گانه اول به این موضوع پرداخته می‌شود که همه انسان‌ها باهوشند. در گانه دوم شخصی نابغه نمایش داده می‌شود که از زمان خود جلوتر است. گانه آخر از زبان مادری روایت می‌شود که یادآوری می‌کند هیچ چیز به جز مهر و محبت در جهان ماندگار نیست.
میتراس نام رومی مهر و میتره است. خدای مهمی که در تاریخ بسیاری از کشورهای مختلف در ادوار گوناگون بوده است.
