وقتی که خوشحالیم مادرم خیلی خوب می‌رقصد. زن‌های همسایه با تشت دایره می‌زنند و مادرم رقص کردی می‌کند و رقص شاطری هم بلد است. اما هیچ وقت جلوی پدرم نمی‌رقصد. پدرم هر وقت عصبانی می‌شود به ما می‌گوید:‹‹ای رقاص‌های بی‌آبرو.›› و معلوم است که از رقص بدش می‌آید. من نمی‌دانم که مادر من که این قدر خوب است چرا هیچ‌وقت عکسش توی روزنامه یا مجله‌ای نیست و هیچ‌وقت مادر نمونه نشده است. وقتی که سالی یک‌بار بند می‌اندازد، خیلی هم قشنگ می‌شود.
