« زیباشناسی سخن پارسی» مجموعه ای سه جلدی است که هر یک از کتابهای آن به بررسی یکی از سه قلمرو اصلی زیباشناسی سخن، بیان و معانی و بدیع، می پردازد. این دومین کتاب ازآن مجموعه و به معانی ، «دانش حالهای سخن» ویژگی یافته است . بخش نخست کتاب به تعریف و شناخت کلی دانش معانی پرداخته و در بخشهای پس از آن هشت زمینه ی اصلی دگرگونیهای جمله به تناسب با موقعیت و مخاطب که موضوع این دانش است ، یک یک بررسی می شوند .
