هنگامی که پرده ی تئاتر بالا میرود زن بازیگر روی زمین افتاده و خنجری در پشت او فرو رفته است . تماشاگران خیال می کنند این صحنه نیز قسمتی از نمایش است ولی این چنین نیست و متیلدا واقعا به قتل رسیده است ... بازرس و دستیارش وارد معرکه می شوند. نویسنده ، مدیر ، بازیگران ، کارکنان تئاتر همه همه ، نقش خود را به خوبی باری می کنند، آیا بازرس و دستیارش موفق میشوند نقاب از چهره قاتل بردارند ..؟
