كتاب از دو فصل تشكیل شده است. فصل نخست حاصل گفت‌وگو با سیدحسن تقی‌زاده در اواخر عمر او درباره گوشه‌هایی از تاریخ انقلاب مشروطه ایران است. تقی‌زاده از علل و زمینه‌های مشروطه، تاثیر روزنامه‌ها، نقش علما، تاثیر قیام تبریز، اقدامات مجلس اول، استبداد صغیر،رویدادهای مهم و برجسته انقلاب مشروطه سخن می‌گوید.گفته‌های تقی‌زاده براساس مشاهدات و خاطرات اوست و به صورت روایت اول شخص بازگو می‌شود. در فصل دوم بخشی از خاطرات سیدمحمدصادق طباطبایی ـ فرزند آیت‌الله طباطبایی بزرگ (از بانیان مشروطه) ـ به چاپ رسیده است.
